The government has taken a hard line to curb the menace of drugs in the country recently. FILE PHOTOAmid the government’s countrywide anti-drug drives, drug traders have changed their strategies opting for digital way to run their business. Some of them fled the home or went hiding.
The buyers use some coded communication through mobile phone to fix the price of narcotics, sources said.
So far, 55 ‘drug traders’ were killed in countrywide anti-drug drives.

Khulna Correspondent reports that drug dealers have left their area to take shelter in other places, but listed drugs peddlers are yet to be caught despite continued anti-drug raids.
The police said listed drugs dealers, peddler in Jashore town and its neighbouring area have gone hiding while local residents said the criminals did not leave in the areas.
Jhenaidah Correspondent adds: Top drug dealers crossed the border since two drug traders were killed in ‘shootouts’ while rest of the peddlers went into hiding.
Speaking to Bangla Tribune, Kaliganj police officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman Khan said, they have a list of 16 drug peddlers with one dead in shootout and raids are on going to arrest the others.
Bagerhat Correspondent quoting local police reports that listed drug traders fled the area since the raid started.
Cumilla Correspondent adds: So far, five people were killed in the anti-drug shootout, which police claimed to be top listed drug peddlers.
Several drug godfathers have gone undercover and efforts are underway to arrest them, said Abdullah Al-Mamun, Additional Superintendent of Police of the district.
Rajshahi Correspondent adds: Drug peddlers have changed their strategies and continued to do business from hiding. Surveillance has been increased across the district, police said.
Bogura Correspondent reports: The police arrested many drug paddlers, but the ringleaders are still at large and maintain connection with the ruling party leaders.
According to intelligences sources, none of 65 listed drug peddlers is yet to be arrested in Hilli border area.
Mymansingh Correspondent reports: Drugs peddlers went hiding but, drugs trading continued at new spots in the city.
Raids are under way to arrest 300 listed drug peddlers, police said.
