Winner Lamya rejects DUCSU polls

Lamya Tanzim TanhaLamya Tanzim Tanha took part in DUCSU polls and won Sufia Kamal hall union election. But, even after winning, she rejected the polls and demanded fresh election.

“There were massive irregularities in the election. It is no way fair,” said Lamya, a student of English Department.

She contested in member post from Progressive Student Unity panel and got 841 votes.

Three decades back my father cast vote for last DUCSU election and I took part in the election to restore democracy and bring healthy political practice in the campus, she said.

“Had the election been free and fair and even if I got 10 votes, I would consider myself as a winner,” she said.

She demanded cancellation of votes and announcement of new election schedule immediately.
