The Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) has called off their protests demanding a re-election to the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU).
Urging demonstrating activists in front of the vice-chancellor’s resident to end the protests, BCL central unit President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon, said, “We will work with all to maintain a congenial atmosphere on the campus.
The BCL will work with all student bodies, including DUCSU vice president-elect Nurul Haque Nur, he said while addressing demonstrating activists.
“Your first identity is students of this university, then a BCL activist. It’s your duty to maintain the campus’ atmosphere. I urge you to leave this place as the VC is our guardian and there’s no point of besieging him,” the BCL chief said.
Following his call, BCL activists called off their sit-in protest in front of the VC’s residence.
