Dhaka, Delhi can solve any bilateral issue, says Hasina

She was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Bangladesh Bhaban at Shantiniketon in West Bengal. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the programme.
Hasina in her speech sought Indian support to resolve Rohingya crisis.
“We have given shelter to Rohingya solely on humanitarian ground. There are are 160 million people in our country and even then we are helping them. But, we need assistance to put pressure on Myanmar government so that they take back Rohingyas,” she said.
Hasina said, “I am extremely happy to be at Shantiniketon to inaugurate the Bhaban. Rabindranath Tagore belongs to Bangladesh as well as India. He wrote the national anthem for both countries.”
She went on saying that India stood by Bangladesh in the liberation war and the two countries without any dispute exchanged enclaves in peaceful manner.
The Bangladesh premier termed India as a potential friend for the country saying, “Poverty is the common enemy we are confronting to. We need to be unified to eradicate it.”
The Bangladesh Bhaban, which is dubbed as the symbol of culture of the two countires, is built to promote the Bengali culture.
It has a modern theatre, exhibit room and a big library that contains books on literature, culture, history, Bangladesh Liberation War and Indian freedom movement history.
Two murals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Rabindranath Tagore were placed at two sides of the building entrance. Dhaka has borne all the expenses to build the Bhaban.
Hasina reached India this morning and flew to Shantiniketon along with Modi where both the prime ministers attended a convocation ceremony.
Hasina’s two-day visit to India starts today, she is scheduled to receive a honourary doctorate degree from Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol.
