There has been progress in the Teesta water sharing deal with India, says Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali.
“You will come to know about in due time,” he told the media on Wednesday.
Replying to a query at a press conference over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s India visit, Ali said
“These types of agreements do not have a specific deadline.”
Hasina’s two-day visit to India starts on Friday (May 25), when she will inaugurate the Bangladesh Bhawan in Viswa Bharati University and receive a honourary doctorate degree from Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol.
She will fly for Kolkata on special Biman Bangladesh flight in the morning and then travel to Viswa Bharati University, including Santiniketan, in Birbhum by a helicopter.
Hasina along with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are scheduled to inaugurate the ‘Bangladesh Bhawan’ on the campus.
The two premiers will then attend the convocation of the university.
Hasina will return to Kolkata the same day and travel to Asanol the next day to receive a honourary doctorate from the Kazi Nazrul University. She is expected to return Dhaka on Saturday (May 26).
