Obaidul Quader has been taken to the hospital, where he is being treated under Philip Koh, an interventional cardiology specialist for Mount Elizabeth.Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, who is suffering from cardiac complications, has been flown in to Singapore by an air ambulance.
Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s air ambulance landed at Seletar Airport just before 8pm Bangladesh time, according to officials of the Bangladesh High Commission.
Quader has been taken to the hospital, where he is being treated under Philip Koh, an interventional cardiology specialist for Mount Elizabeth.
Earlier in the day, the air ambulance left Dhaka at 4:15pm after doctors decided to transfer the cabinet member.
The ambulance carrying Quader set off from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) at 3:22pm before reaching the airport’s VIP Terminal 20 minutes laters.
A security detail accompanied the ambulance from the BSMMU Hospital and the roads had been cleared beforehand.

He was diagnosed with three arterial blocks and one of those was removed by stenting the same day.
As his condition was unstable, the doctors initially could not say when it would be safe to move him for better treatment abroad.
Specialists from the Singapore hospital came on Sunday evening and on consultation with them, the doctors decided to treat him in Dhaka for the time.
On Monday, renowned cardiologist from India Dr Devi Shetty arrived and checked Quader.
Later, the doctors said Quader was stable enough to be airlifted to Singapore.
