Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has expressed satisfaction over voter presence at the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor by-polls and the Dhaka north and south ward councilor election.
Regarding low voter turnout, he said, “There are three reasons, absence of main opposition, mayor by-election for a short period and inclement weather.”
“Despite these reasons, election environment was normal and I am satisfied,” he added.
Commenting on BNP’s statement of no confidence on Election Commission (EC), he said, “This is a political statement; those who do not participate at an election, give such statements.”
