Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has ordered all Bangladeshi missions abroad to provide 24-hour consular services.
A foreign ministry statement on Thursday (Feb 28) said that the ministry has written to the chiefs of the missions instructing to open a 24-hour ‘Consular Service Line’ soon.
The minister in his letter also gave directions to make the consular service rooms more helpful and upgrade their services.
“Involving the expatriates with the development of the country will bring in both remittance and investment,” Momen said in his letter and added that success in these sectors depends on the service provided.
He also urged the missions to soon prepare an expatriates database soon based on their profession.
