Incessant downpour since the wee hours of Monday disrupted the everyday life in the capital as most of the city streets submerged under water since the early morning, creating untold sufferings for the commuters to reach their destinations.
Most of the streets at different parts of the capital city submerged under water due to several hours’ incessant downpour. City dwellers faced untold sufferings as water flooded the streets at Mirpur, Malibag, Maghbazar, Mohammadpur, Tejgaon, Shewrapara, Shajahanpur, Matijheel, Lalbag and many other areas.
The school-going children and office commuters suffered a lot as water clogged on the streets, creating a shortage of vehicles. Moreover, number of wayfarers on streets was comparatively less due to the continuous rainfall.
Met Office sources Monday said the volume of rainfall since 9:00 am Sunday to 9:00 am Monday was 107 mm.
