Nomination form distribution for the much-awaited elections to Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and residential hall unions has begun on Tuesday (Feb 19).
The forms, which are being distributed without a fee, are available at the offices of each hall’s provosts until 4pm.
The nomination form distribution will continue until 4pm each day from Feb 19 to Feb 25.
Ziaur Rahman Hall student Shakin Molla, who is in his third year in the Political Science Department, collected his nomination form around 11:45am. He is running for the hall’s literature secretary post.
Earlier around 11am English department’s third-year student Mehnaz Akter took her form to contest the post for Sufia Kamal Hall Union’s Vice President.

The DUCSU election will be held on Mar 11 next after a long time for which he Dhaka University campus is abuzz with activity over the polls.
DUCSU was formed a year after Dhaka University was established in 1921. Though DUCSU elections are to be held every year, there have only been six since independence.
The last election was held on Jun 6, 1990.
In January this year, the High Court settled a six-year-old rule on the issue, ordering the polls to be held by six months.
