As many as five teams of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will monitor kitchen to check on prices of essentials.
The teams will start working from Friday, the first day of the month of Ramadan, Dhaka South Mayor Sayeed Khokon told the media on Thursday.
“Prices of most commodities are lower compared to last year. But prices have risen a bit two to three weeks ago due to demand. Traders will have to face actions if they charge more,” he said after visiting the kitchen market in capital’s Hatirpool.
The South city mayor said the police, RAB as well as consumer rights bodies will also deploy their own monitoring teams.
