BNP has alleged that the killing of Bangladeshis by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) continues.
A late night statement, sent by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday (Jan 22), reads, “For decades, the killings of Bangladeshis have gone unabated.”
Expressing deep worry at the killings of two Bangladeshis near the Thakurgaon border, he said, “A few years ago, it was said after a meeting between the two governments that Bangladeshis will not be killed near the border area, though that decision has not materialised.”
Claiming that the government failed to stop bloodshed at the border, the BNP secretary general said, “The Awami League (AL) always gives false promises to people and keeps the nation in confusion.”
Saying that AL has not protested the persecution of border area people by the BSF, he blamed a ‘subservient foreign policy’.
