As many as 600 buses and 500 trucks will be added to the fleet of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) vehicles by April, said Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came during a media briefing on Tuesday (Jan 22) after a meeting with BTRC staff and depot managers.
“A complete zero tolerance policy will be adopted at BRTC,” Quader said after adding that a software-based digital system will be put in place to ensure transparent operations and better services.
The minister said that the digital system was already in place at Kalyanpur, Motijheel and Gabtoli on an experimental basis.
He added that BTRC will be transformed in to a profitable organization through good planning and that the new vehicles will help to upgrade their services.
