Newly appointed Cabinet member Zunaid Ahmed Palak has acknowledged his mistake and is deeply sorry for riding a bike to work without a helmet, said Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came during a media call on Thursday (Jan 10) at the secretariat where he was speaking about bringing law and order in the road and transport sector.
“I spoke to him regarding the matter and he has acknowledged his mistake and assured me that it won’t happen again,” he said.
Palak, who has taken the office of state minister for ICT for the second term was thrown into the spotlight the very first day of office after he posted a picture of himself going to office on bike without a helmet on Tuesday (Jan 8).
He posted a couple of photos on social media platform Facebook, that shows him hitching a ride to work on a bike without a helmet.
Soon after the photos were posted from his verified page, the comment section was stormed by criticisms.
He however said that he was late for work and the biker did not have an extra helmet.
