The Parliament Secretariat has announced Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad as the leader of the opposition of the 11th parliament.
In an official order issued on Wednesday (Jan 9), JP Co Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader was announced as the deputy leader of the opposition.
Earlier on Friday HM Ershad announced himself as the leader of the opposition and GM Quader as the deputy leader. The former dictator also wrote to Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury to take necessary steps in this regard.
Ershad picks four for reserved seats for women
JP Chairman HM Ershad has picked four among his party leaders for the reserved parliamentary seats for women.
The press release, issued on Wednesday (Jan 9), also said that a letter has been forwarded to the speaker to take necessary steps in this regard.
The four women picked for the reserved seats are- Parveen Osman (Narayanganj), Dr Shahina Akter (Kurigram), Nazma Akter (Feni) and Monika Alam (Jhenaidah).
