Law Minister Anisul HuqLaw Minister Anisul Huq has said that law will be amended to hold trial of banned political party Jamaat-e-Islami for their controversial role in the war of independence.
His comments came on Wednesday (Jan 9) while talking to the media at his Secretariat office.
“Law will be amended to try Jamaat. A proposed law in this regard is currently at the law ministry for further scrutiny. Once it gets the prime minister’s nod, it will be presented before the cabinet for approval,” said Huq.

The law minister also said that initiatives will be taken to identify the conspirators behind the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the jail killing of four national leaders.

A special commission will be formed in this regard, he said.

On the Digital Security Act, he said, “The law wasn’t formed to harass the journalists. It’s for those who misuse the technology.”
