Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasises on strengthening the relationship with regional partners, says new Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.
“We seek cooperation and partnership of our friendly states to achieve the visions for 2021, 2030, and 2041,’ Momen told the media on the first day of joining his office on Tuesday (Jan 8).
Momen said, “We need active collaboration and partnership from all to achieve the core foreign policy goals with the solid base in place—trust and sovereignty.”
“We (the foreign ministry) will play the role to attract adequate investment to accomplish our visions,” he said.
The foreign minister said they have already initiated economic diplomacy without revealing details.
“We want to work as a team as there are many challenges ahead,” he said.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque were, among others, present.
Earlier, ministry officials and other staffers welcomed the newly appointed Foreign Minister at the ministry.
