Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, newly elected MP from Rangpur-3 constituency, has taken his oath of office.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at her parliament office at around 12pm on Sunday (Jan 3).
Accompanied by Co-chairman GM Quader and the party’s other leaders, Ershad went to the parliament complex after completing regular medical check-ups the city’s Combined Military Hospital in the morning, sources at JP told Bangla Tribune.
On Jan 3, Ershad skipped the JP lawmakers’ oath taking ceremony due to health issues.
The JP chairman has also been absent from party activities for quite some time on the same ground.

Ershad's JP bagged 22 seats in the 11th Parliamentary Election held on Dec 30.
