Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has said, sufficient security measures have been ensured until Jan 2 to tackle any post-polls violence.
"We have taken sufficient measures to tackle any post-polls violence until Jan 2. Threats, intimidations over winning or losing the polls will be strictly dealt with," the DMP chief told the media on Monday (Dec 31).
Mia also said, "It’s the right of the political parties that they will campaign, which is a democratic process. But, we will not allow anyone to threat common people over polls' outcome.”
"Anyone resorting to such activities will be brought under justice," he warned.
