The government will set up a media center at the Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon to publish the results of the voting in the 11th national election, said State Minister for Information Tarana Halim.
The information division will set up a 24-hour media cell at the Dhaka hotel that will display the polls outcome digitally.
“There will be three shifts everyday with 7 people in each shift,” Halim told the media on Sunday (Dec 23).
Responding to a journalist’s query, the actress-turned-politician said that the cell will be responsible for publishing outcomes that it receives from the Election Commission.
“The media center will be operable from Dec 29 and we will not be publishing any result that has not been provided by the Commission.”
State-broadcaster BTV will display the outcome every 30 minutes or in the form of a bulletin if necessary, she said.
Halim said that the foreign missions in Bangladesh will also be notified so that they can contact the cell if needed. Moreover, a booth will be dedicated at the airports to provide the arriving foreign observers with information.
