Complaint filed against candidate for using Hasina’s photo in postersA complaint has been lodged with the Election Commission against Rashed Khan Menon led Workers Party Satkhira-1 candidate Mostafa Lutfullah for using Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s picture on his campaign posters.
A Syed Didar Bakht filed the complaint with on Thursday (Dec 21) which the commission accepted in the evening.

The letter read that using the prime minister’s photo instead of Menon’s is clear violation of the electoral code of conduct. It further said that using Hasina’s picture was a ploy to blackmail and mislead the voters.
The letter demanded that Lutfullah’s nomination be scrapped on grounds of violation polls conduct.
On Wednesday (Dec 19), the commission issued a letter to the 39 registered political parties saying that candidates in the 11th National Election can only use their and the party chief’s pictures on campaign materials for the polls slated for Dec 30.
The letter cited the provision of the Representation of the People’s Order (RPO) and the electoral code of conduct.
