BNP Organising Secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu and former minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku have been ruled out of the race for the 11th Parliamentary Election.
The development came after the Appellate Division stayed a High Court order that earlier asked the election officials to accept Dulu’s and Tuku’s nomination papers.
A seven-member Appellate Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, handed the order on Wednesday (Dec 12).
On Dec 11, a Chamber judge stayed an HC order that asked the Election Commission to accept their nomination papers on Dec 10.
Following the order, the EC moved to the Chamber Court seeking a stay order.
