Former human rights commission chief and retired top court judge Aminul Kabir Chowdhury has died.
The 78-year-old breathed his last on Tuesday (May 1) at the Bangladesh Medical College Hospital, where he had been admitted on Mar 25 for old-age complicacies.
He is survived by a son and two daughters.
Confirming the death, Supreme Court lawyer Ruhul Quddus Kajal said on the social media that a funeral prayer was held late on Tuesday at Dhaka’s Dhanmondi, before the mortal remains were taken to Chattogram.
A second funeral has been held in the port city on Wednesday before the burial.
