Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has told the technocrat ministers of her administration to step down.

The premier made the decision on Tuesday (Nov 6) in a cabinet meeting held at the prime minister’s office (PMO), people aware with the development told Bangla Tribune.

Cabinet of the ruling government includes four technocrat ministers—Religious Affairs Minister Matior Rahman, Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc, Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar.

They are expected to tender their resignation to the prime minister after the cabinet meeting.

The resignation letters will be forwarded to the cabinet division and then sent back to the PMO again for prime minister’s final approval.

Once approved by the PM, the letters will be sent to the President and later the cabinet division will issue a circular making it official.
