The Election Commission (EC) has cancelled holidays including weekly and government leaves for all officials and employees ahead of the 11th parliamentary polls.
EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed informed the media on Friday (Nov 2).
Officials were seen at work on Friday after the decision came into effect on Thursday (Nov 1) following an order signed by Assistant Secretary Mohammad Shahidur Rahman.
The decision, aimed at effectively conducting all election-related tasks, was applicable for all EC officials including people working under the commission-led projects, chauffeurs and support staffs until the polls result is announced, said the directive.
