Relations between Bangladesh and India have reached a new height and both the countries give values to the existing ties, says Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Her remarks came on Monday when State Executive Member and Advisor to the BJP President in India’s West Bengal Anindya Gopal Mitra called on her, reports BSS.
Press Secretary to the PM Ihsanul Karim briefed the media after the meeting.
Mitra echoed Hasina’s observation on India-Bangladesh relationship, said Karim.
Hasina expressed her gratitude towards the Indian government and people for their overwhelming support to Bangladesh and its people during the Liberation War in 1971.
She said that after the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Aug 15, 1975, the real history of the country was tempered.
“A generation was kept in the dark from knowing the true history of the country,” Press Secretary Karim quoted the PM.
Mitra told Hasina that during Bangladesh’s Liberation War, he was a young politician.
