The Marvel Universe just nabbed another star for its constellation.
Angelina Jolie is joining The Eternals, Marvel’s upcoming offering directed by indie auteur Chloé Zhao, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It is not yet clear which character Jolie would play. The Eternals, based on Jack Kirby’s 1976 comic, is about a superhuman race created by a divine group called the Celestials.
Jolie has spent the last few years moving behind the camera, directing heavy dramas like Unbroken and First They Killed My Father, but it appears she’s having a lite acting renaissance.
She will be following other Oscar winners Anthony Hopkins, Jeff Bridges, Robert Redford, Michael Douglas, William Hurt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Kingsley, Tilda Swinton, Cate Blanchett, Benicio Del Toro, Sam Rockwell, Marisa Tomei, Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brie Larson and Lupita Nyong’o, who have also starred in the biggest film franchise of all time.
