Italy returnee dies in Bhairab

KishoreganjAn expatriate, who returned from Italy, has died at a hospital in Kishoreganj's Bhairab Upazila.
The 60-year-old man, who returned to Bangladesh on Jan 28, died at Sayed Yousuf Memorial Hospital around 10:30pm on Sunday (Mar 22).
The man, a resident of Jagannathpur village in Bhairab, fell ill on Mar 21 and was taken to Abedin Hospital, upazila health and family planning official Dr Bulbul Ahmed told Bangla Tribune on Monday.
He was then referred to Sayed Yousuf Memorial Hospital where the on-duty physician declared him dead, the official added.
When asked if the man died from Covid-19, Bulbul, also the member secretary of the local committee formed to fight coronavirus infection, said: "The matter will be cleared after medical investigation."
The district Civil Surgeon, Dr Mujibur Rahman, said officials at the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) are taking samples from the body to determine whether he was infected with coronavirus or not.
Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Lubna Farzana said the administration has limited the movement of the residents of the neighboring houses.
