If the court wants, the police will change the investigation officer (IO) for Sagar, Runi murder case, says Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Patwary.
“The IO of the case will be changed if the court demands it. We are not under any pressure for Sagar, Runi murder case,” Patwary told media after inaugurating local police offices at Gournadi in Barishal on Wednesday (Feb 12).
“Police have given maximum effort to advance the case. Rapid Action Battalion are working on solving the mystery,” the IGP said.
“The delay occurred due to verifying the information found,” he added.
IGP Patwary admitted to the increase of rape incidents in the country, adding, “We take immediate actions after any rape incident is reported.”
He also called for social movement against the crime.
