A head-on collision between a bus and an ambulance has left three people dead and two others injured on Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway.
The incident was reported around 7.30am on Wednesday (Jan 15) from Bachurbandha area in Rangpur’s Taraganj Upazila, said police.
One of the deceased has been identified as Rubel, who was the driver of the ambulance, said Taraganj Highway police OC Golam Kibria.
Police said, a Saidpur bound Dipjol Paribahan bus collided head-on with the Rangpur bound ambulance at Bachurbandha area which left two people dead on the spot.
Highway police rescued the injured and rushed them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where another people succumbed to his injuries.
Two injured have been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police said that the reckless driving have caused the accident.
The driver and his associate have been on the run soon after the incident, added OC Golam Kibria.
