Two Rohingyas held with 150,000 yaba tablets

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have seized 150,000 yaba tablets from two Rohingya youths at Teknaf.Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have detained two Rohingyas allegedly in possession of 150,000 tablets of contraband yaba in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf Upazila.

They were detained with the drugs from Hnila Union's Jadimura on early Monday (Jan 6).

The detainees are Abdul Latif, 22, and Jabed Iqbal, 21, resident of the union’s Rohingya refugee camp 27.

“Acting on a tip-off, RAB conducted a drive near Teknaf-Cox’s Bazar highway at Jadimura. The two Rohingyas were chased and detained during the drive,” said Teknaf camp Company Commander Mirza Shahed Mahtab.

He said that the yaba had a street value of Tk 75 million.

“They will be handed over to Teknaf police along with the seized yaba tablets,” he added.
