Awami League will nominate no controversial person for mayors and councillors polls of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), says the party's General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

His remarks came while he was addressing the inauguration of construction of expressway at Bhogora-Joydebpur-Madanpur bypass on Thursday (Dec 26) morning.
“Government will cooperate Election Commission to conduct free, fair and transparent polls at Dhaka city corporations,” said Quader, also the road transport minister.
“Government and the ruling party will not interfere in any regard in the polls,” he added.
