A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Chatkhil upazila early Monday (Dec 23).

The deceased was identified as Monir Hossain alias Kasai Monir. He was accused in 16 cases, police said.

The gunfight took place at Hatpukuria of the upazila.

Chatkhil police station officer-in-charge Anwarul Islam said Monir was arrested in a case on Sunday (Dec 22). 

During the gunfight, three police members were also injured, the OC added.
