A fire has broken out at a plastic factory in the capital’s Keraniganj.
The fire erupted at the factory located in Cunkhutia area on Wednesday (Dec 11) evening, said Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters Duty Officer Ershad Hossain.
Ten firefighting units are working to douse the blaze, he added.
At least 25 injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment. The injured are workers of the factory.
DMCH burn unit Resident Medical Officer Dr Partho Sankar Pal said: "All of the injured have sustained burn injuries and undergoing treatment."
"On information of several others injured, the hospital has sent 15 to 20 ambulances to Keraniganj," said DMCH police outpost Inspector Md Bacchu Mia.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
