A suspected drug peddler has been killed in Munshiganj in what RAB describe as a shootout.
The incident was reported from district’s Sreenagar Upazila on Sunday, said RAB-11 official ASP Muhitul Islam.
The victim has been identified as Shohrab, 35.
“Acting on a tip-off, RAB conducted a raid at Upazila’s Chatravog area of Baghra union in the early hours on Sunday which triggered a shootout. After the incident, Shorab’s bullet ridden body was recovered from the spot and sent him to local Upazila health complex where the doctors declared him dead,” said Islam.
“Two RAB officials were injured during the incident,” he added.
One imported pistol, one bullet. 600 yaba tablets and Tk 10,500 were seized from the spot.
RAB says that Shorab was a listed criminal in 13 cases.
