Three people of the same family, including two women, were killed after their microbus collided with a covered van in Tangail.

The incident was reported from Bhuapur upazila’s Golchattar area on Friday (Dec 6) morning, Ayubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Police Station confirmed.

The deceased have been identified as Haji Abdul Karim Sarkar, 60, his wife Toara Sarkar, 50, and their daughter Kaniz Fatema, 30, hailing from Shahednagar in Sadar upazila, Sirajganj.

OC Rahman said that the three were killed on the spot immediately after the collision.

He added that five others who were injured have been taken to a local hospital.
