The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) in Gopalganj has expelled five students and suspended another for assaulting students while seven others have been suspended on charges of frauds during the admission test.
Registrar Prof Nuruddin Ahmed said the decision was made in line with the findings of two separate inquiries.
The university authorities have issued two separate orders over the matter on Sunday (Nov 17).
The six students have been found guilty of attacks on students of BSMRSTU, who were protesting against the irregularities of Vice-Chancellor Prof Khondoker Nasiruddin.
Another seven students have been suspended for two semesters on allegations of fraud during the university’s A Unit admission test for the 2019-20 session.
