Police have filed charge sheet pressing charges against six people in connection with the attack on renowned writer Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal on Shahajalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus.
The Investigation Officer (IO) and Jalalabad Police Station OC Shafiqul Islam submitted the charge sheet to the Acting Justice Haridas Kumar of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 on Thursday.
“Court has not accepted the charge sheet which was submitted today. A date to be fixed for holding a hearing on the charge sheet”, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (prosecution) of court Amullo Kumar Chowdhury.
The main accused of the case is Faizul Hasan Foyez.
The other accused are Faizul's father Hafez Maulana Atiqur Rahman, mother Minara Begum, brother Enamul Hasan, maternal uncle Md Fazlur Rahman and friend Sohagh Miah.
