The Comilla district administration has banned three Islamist preachers from hosting any gatherings on allegations of making religious provocative and anti-state statements.
The preachers who face the ban are Maulana Tariq Monowar, Maulana Abdur Razzak and Maunala Jashim Uddin.
The ban was enforced following a resolution adopted by the district’s law and order committee on Monday (Nov 11), in presence of district superintendent of police and other high government officials.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kaizer Md Farabi said “Three respective preachers were banned from August this year for making religious provocative and anti-state statements before the general public.
"The announcement was made after a resolution was adopted in this regard by the district’s law and order committee,” he added.
