Seven killed in Panchagarh road crash

Seven people have died when a bus rammed an auto-rickshaw in Panchagarh.

Another person was also injured in the accident which took place on the Panchagarh-Banglabandha highway around 1:30 pm on Friday (Nov 8), said Bhajanpur Highway police OC Abdul Quader Zilani.

The deceased have been identified as Rafiq, 28, Akbor Ali, 72, Nurima, 65, Labu Islam, 25, Mukti, 19, Makud Hossain, 43, and Nargis Banu, 42.

"A bus slammed into an auto-rickshaw coming in from the opposite direction. Five people died on the spot, one died on the way to the hospital and the other succumbed to the injuries when taken to district Sadar hospital," said OC Zilani.

“Being informed, we rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies,” said Panchagarh Fire Service station officer Niranjan Sarker.
