Another death has been reported from mosquito-borne viral disease dengue from Khulna.
Forty-year-old Sabita died early on Tuesday (Nov 5) while being treated at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KCMC), said Sailendra Biswas, residential physician at the hospital.
She was admitted to the hospital on Sunday (Nov 3) when she was diagonised with dengue, said Dr Biswas.
So far, 25 people have died of dengue in the southern district since Jul 1 this year.
According to official statistics, some 174 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till 8am on Monday (Nov 4).
Since January, 97,730 people were hospitalised with dengue. Of them, 96,820 made full recovery.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research has received 248 reports of dengue-related deaths. It has reviewed 171 of them and confirmed 107 deaths so far in the country.
