A schoolboy has been killed after being run over by a truck at Jashore on Tuesday (Oct 22), the day when the country is observing National Road Safety Day.
Maidul Islam Lion, 13, a student of Jashore Daud Public School and College died after a truck ran him over at the Jashore-Jhenaidah Highway, confirmed Kotoali police Sub-Inspector (SI) Monirul Islam.
“Lion was going to school on his bicycle when the truck ran him over in front of New Khayertola Agricultural Research center. He died on spot,” he said.
He added that the truck driver ran away leaving the truck, which has been seized.
