A court has given life sentence to a man for raping a sixth-grader in Sirajganj.
The district administrator has also been ordered to seize and sell the assets of convict 48-year-old Labhlu Baburchi and give the victim a compensation of Tk 100,000.
Sirajganj Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 Judge Fazle Khoda Md Nazir delivered the verdict on Tuesday (Oct 15), confirmed public prosecutor Parvez Limon.
According to the case documents, On May 10 last year, Labhlu raped the girl after he convinced her to go back to his place while she was out collecting flowers.
She later became pregnant after which the mother filed a case against Labhlu.
