BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir addressing an audience during a rally demanding the release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s release at the Registry Field in Sylhet on Tuesday (Sept 24).The ruling Awami League leaders are practicing politics of robbery, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“There are casinos everywhere. Millions are being seized from one person,” he said on Tuesday (Sept 24) during a rally demanding the release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s release at the Registry Field in Sylhet.
“The Awami League is in power by robbing the people of their mandate. They have violated the Constitution,” he added.
Fakhrul reiterated that the government was constantly using the state mechanism to serve its personal agendas and Khaleda can only be released by removing the incumbent regime from power.
“Every day 50-60 people die on the streets. There is no security for the people,” he said and added that the government was constantly hiking up prices of the commodities.
“The government has made the judiciary partial. There is no justice in the country,” the senior BNP politician said.
He added that BNP leaders were being harassed illegally and Khaleda has been imprisoned in framed charges.
On the ongoing Rohingya crisis, he said, “The government has failed to send back even one Rohingya. It’s their diplomatic failure.”
