Police have recovered huge cache of shredded banknotes from near a waterbody in Bogura.
The shreded notes were found abandoned at the Chandai village road, next to Khowar Bill in Shahjahanpur upazila early on Tuesday (Sept 24).
Police found Bangladesh currency of Tk 1,000, Tk 500 and Tk 100 notes, all of them shredded into pieces.
Shahjahanpur Police OC Adul Kalam Azad said they were still recovering the notes from the pond and the truck.
“We are still unsure about the owner of the banknotes, we will be able to make a statement once primary investigation is completed,” the OC added.
