Representational imageThe ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari route in the Padma river resumed at around 11:30 am after the services were halted last night due to poor navigability.

However, only six out of 17 ferries were plying on the route.

BIWTA Assistant General Manager Nasir Uddin Chowdhury confirming the news said poor navigability has been forcing such suspension of ferry services on the route for several days.

The ferry movement was suspended from 3:00 am on Sunday (Sept 22)due to poor navigation, affecting people from 21 districts and resulting in long tailbacks.

Many vehicles including good-laden trucks remained stuck and the passengers were suffering immensely at Shimulia, the entry point to 21 districts of the country.
