Bangladesh has banned two international non-government organisations (INGOs) from operating in the country for "financing an anti-repatriation campaigns" at the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar.

INGOs Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and Al Markazul Islami face allegations of financing and organising an anti-repatriation rally at the Rohingya camps, said Cox's Bazar Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mohammad Ashraful Afsar.

They supplied the dresses including T-shirts during an anti-repatriation rally at Rohingya camps on Aug 25, according to the ADC.
Both INGOs were ordered to shut their operation across Bangladesh, said Afsar and added that the banks have been instructed to freeze the transactions of the two INGOs.
The NGO Affairs Bureau issued a circular on Wednesday to this regard.

Earlier on Aug 31, the NGO Affairs Bureau withdrew 41 NGO's from their operations at Rohingya camps "because of their wrongdoings."
On Aug 29, it also suspended six projects of an NGO, Mukti Cox’s Bazar, on allegation of producing sharp weapons for Rohingyas.
The authorities had earlier halted operations of six NGOs working for the refugees namely Islamic Relief, Islamic Aid, Muslim Aid, Small Kindness Bangladesh, Bangladesh Chashi Kalyan Samity, and Nomijan Asthabi Foundation.
Bangladesh is currently hosting 1.1 million of Rohingyas at refugee camps in Cox's Bazar.
Of them, over 730,000 Rohingyas fled Myanmar's Rakhine to neighbouring Bangladesh after a military crackdown in August 2017 with what the United Nations has said was perpetrated with “genocidal intent.”

Attempt to repatriate Rohingyas failed twice due to refusal from the refugees with the last bid going in vain on Aug 22.
