The body of a missing teenage boy has been recovered from a beach in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila.

He has been identified as Mohammad Ali, 15, a madrassah student and son of Ramiz Mia who is a resident of Tenkaf municipality’s ward no 5.

Members of the Coast Guard and Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the body from Lombi beach in Teknaf upazila around 7 am on Thursday (Aug 15).  

Fire service officials recovered the body in the morning after being informed by local residents and later handed it over to police, official of Teknaf fire service station Mukul Kumar Nath said.

According to local residents, the boy was swept away by the sea while he was playing on the beach on Wednesday (Aug 15).

Teknaf police station Officer in Charge said that they had handed over the body to family members.
