Student dies of dengue in Pabna

The deceased is Mosabbir Hossain Mahfuz, 20, resident of Chok Ramanandapur village in Pabna Sadar upazila.

Confirming the matter, Pabna General Hospital Assistant Director Ranjan Kumar Dutta said that Mahfuz was hospitalised with the fever around 3:00pm on Tuesday (Aug 13) and died around 12:30am on Wednesday (Aug 14).  

Mahfuz had also been suffering from other health complications, the director added.

Relatives said that Mahfuz had been staying in Dhaka to attend tuition classes for university admission tests and had become ill soon after he returned home for Eid-ul-Azha.

According to Dr Ranjan Kumar Dutta, a total of 46 patients are being treated at the hospital for dengue and 17 new patients had been admitted there with the fever in the last 24 hours.
