Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said the government would not take any hasty action against Priya Saha, who complained to US President Donald Trump about the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh.
The context of her comment would be considered, he told media on after a programme in Sylhet on Saturday (Jul 27).
Replying a query on whether any political party provoked Saha, Momen said he had no idea about it.
"Saha herself can tell better," he said.
Earlier on Jul 24, the foreign minister also told the media that he doesn't think the government will arrest Saha for her comment.
In the video clip that went viral on social media on Jul 19, Priya Saha was heard telling US President Donald Trump that “Sir, I'm from Bangladesh. … 37 million Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are disappeared. Please help us - for the Bangladeshi people. We want to stay in our country.”
